Buffy Summers
Aliases: “The Slayer”, “The Chosen One”
Fighting Style: mixed martial arts
Weapons: Stakes (“Mr. Pointy”), clever dialog, crossbows, knifes, rocket launchers
versus
Kara Thrace
Alias: “Starbuck”
Fighting Style: street boxing
Weapons: MKVII Colonial Viper, liquor bottles, insubordination, guns
Outlook: Since a Colonial Viper won’t fit in our fictional fighting ring, I’d expect Buffy to make short work of Starbuck. Having defeated vampires, demons and Big Bads of many types Buffy easily has the upper hand. Outside of a cockpit, Starbuck’s fight resume includes a beat-down on wuss Lee Adama and a sucker punch of a drunk Colonel Tigh. Oh yeah, she beat down Caprica 6 while trying to retrieve the Arrow of Apollo. She also knifed Leoben.. Ok, ok, she’s not as big a wussy as I thought. Even still, Buffy is packing too much firepower.

Woah dude, you are making a major omission in not mentioning Starbuck’s no-holds barred takedown of Number Six in the temple on Kobol. She also shivved another cylon who was trying to brainwash her into loving him like a husband. Clearly she can hold her own.

Holy hell. You’re absolutely right. I totally forgot about both those incidents!
Starbuck can get nasty when need be…but I still think Buffy would take her down.
I guess my obsession with BtVS blinded me! Perhaps I need a support group or something!

I admit I’m pretty one-sided: I’ve never seen a single episode of Buffy, though it sounds like one of those shows I need to check out sooner or later.

Much as it pains me to admit it, I think Buffy would win also.
Now, if Starbuck had taken down a metal toaster instead of a skin job, it’d be a different story.

As something of a completionist, you also forgot taking out a six at the farm with a fire extinguisher, and more to the point, taking out Simon with a hunka-hunka broken mirror, also barfighting with a broken knee on Colonial Day. Pleny of firefights with toasters on both Kobol and Caprica as well of course, but since you don’t appear to be letting the ‘buck use any actual weapons she’s going to have to go on pure badassery and improvisation, two points Buffy, while a skilled fighter has always been lacking in. Buff’s full of righteous indignation and all, but the girls survival instinct leaves a lot to be desired. Now… Faith vs Kara? There’s a fight I would pay to see!

I think Buffy would beat Kara down easily, she saved the world several times. Also Kara has to be awake to fight back( she is drinking too much).
I love Buffy’s pre-fight dialogs, one of these dialogs may confuse Kara’s mind easily.
I like both of them but buffy would win un questionably.

Buffy superhuman. Kara thrace not.

I dunno. Buffy’s got super-human strength, which is a good point in her favour, but on the other hand so do the cylon skinjobs, and Kara makes short work of them.
I think Kara’s willingness to fight as dirty as she can would throw Buffy off, too. Buffy’s used to demons who take turns and use martial arts.
No bet either way for me. I’ll second this, though:
Faith vs Kara? There’s a fight I would pay to see!

I haven’t seen Buffy either, but I still would place my bet on Kara!

Silly Silly Silly people! Kara Thrace would absolutely mash puny Buffy. All of Kara’s fights are pretty much one on one but Buffy constantly relies on the aid of her bumbling groupies. Without Giles she wouldn’t know who, why or what to fight or even how to fight sed deamon.
Without Angel/Spike/Xander or Willow she’d be dead as all have saved her. Kara goes in alone and comes out alone. Could Buffy have planned the raid on the Tillium mining facility? Could she FRAK!

Buffy wins. easily. if Kara doesn’t have access to her fighter, she simply can’t compete. both of them are skilled hand to hand fighters, but Buffy is a specialist. she’s spent the last decade or so of her life getting into fist fights with critters that make Cylons look downright tame.
on top of that, Kara is a baseline human. Buffy is strong enough to bend a gun barrel into a knot, agile enough to leap over 10 foot fences, and has superhuman resilience and a mild healing factor, in addition to supernatural reflexes and instinctive access to the combat skills of a thousand generations of slayers instilled into her by magic.
SHE BEAT UP A GOD. ’nuff said.

Id have to go for Kara, purely for instinct and unpredictability. Buffy may have superhuman strength but as pointed out above so do skinjobs. Besides buffy died, she was resurrected that the only reason she would be able to fight Kara now
Above all else you cant beat a good streefighter, and kara is down with gritty scraps that make you dig deep and find the heart to take em down. Starbuck all the way for me, even tho i would give buffy a damn good seeing too…. and kara…. both at the same time even hehe, oh go on then faith can watch

Kara would kick ass. Don’t get me wrong, i am a massive fan of both, BTVS LONG before BSG. But Kara is just… She just has ‘IT’ (Bugsy Malone ref there… lol) No, Kara’s faced alot more on her own than Buffy ever did.
BRING BACK BUFFY!!!!!
5 MORE SEASONS… BSG

Are you KIDDING me?
Have you even SEEN BTVS?
